soarins-pie asked: hi there i saw your monster hunter stuff and i knew i had to follow this blog your stuff is amazing and i was wondering if you do commissions or not if so how to request one?
I do commissions yes, If you’d like to talk about/request one message me on my FB page: HSProps
askmonsterhunterhiroshu asked: Would you also make armour? Like full body.
While I can make armor pieces, a full body set scaled to someone who isn’t me runs into the $1000s of dollars area. It’s a lot of time, a lot of materials, and a lot of work XD
Going to be getting an artist alley booth at anime next this year.
delectationsweet asked: Hey, your props are really great. I'm studying theater design and take all sorts of prop classes but ultimately I want to start making cosplay props too. What do you usually use to make your weapon props? I heard that a lot of people use insulation styrofoam but just wonder what you prefer.
Pink insulation foam is a great medium to work with. It’s pretty forgiving, and very easy to shape. EVA foam is another one that’s pretty easy to work with if you’re making things like armor/plating.
As far as tools go I generally cut the pieces out on a scroll saw, and shaping is done with a beltsander/dremel/hotwire cutter.
How is theater design as a major?
I don’t normally do this but I’m really trying to get this page some more notice.
As most of you know I’m an aspiring prop maker and for about a year now I’ve been really trying to get this off the floor, and now not only do I have the means to do this, I’ve also got the materials to back it up.
I’d really appreciate it if you could just promote the page a little, share it on your page or tell your friends. Maybe they need a cool LARP boffer, or a nifty Con prop, or maybe you do! XD
Regardless if you guys could help me out, maybe I could get this further off the ground then it is.
